In 2022, First Kaska purchased the assets of Heartland Timber Homes, based in Lac La Hache, BC.
First Kaska will move the company and production to Watson Lake, providing training and creating 8-10 jobs.
The strong advantage is the ability to deliver quality timber homes to remote locations. Many First Nations communities are far from urban centres, making home building expensive. Heartland Timber Homes will be an attractive option for First Nations across Canada.
Heartland Timber Homes designs and creates timber home kits that can be shipped and assembled on site. Timber Homes are less expensive to build, require less maintenance and are more culturally appropriate.
