Jasper Lamouelle, CEO, and Oscar Gomez of First Kaska GP Ltd., accepted the 2022 YCM First Nations Award, for socially responsible practices, environmental stewardship, and leadership in innovation.

First Kaska undertook several activities over the past year related to the responsible advancement of Yukon’s mining industry, including encouraging First Nations and Industry partnership participation in sustainable development, promoting and development of clean technology to advance future projects [current development of a 5 MW solar farm in Watson Lake, YT that will lessen dependence on diesel generated electricity which can be utilized for future resource development, among other uses] and engaging local First Nation government and band members to compile skills needed for employment and training opportunities which lead to the training and employment of 68 members including 25 environmental technicians and 10 heavy equipment operators, among others.

First Kaska Launches New Website!

WATSON LAKE, YT – Jasper Lamouelle, CEO of First Kaska GP LTD, is pleased to announce the launch of a new website for First Kaska.

First Kaska is wholly owned by Liard First Nation.

“We are excited about our new website because it represents a significant milestone for First Kaska,” said Mr. Lamouelle. “Our company has changed and grown since 2019, and the new website reflects all lines of business in a succinct way.”

Visitors to the website will be able to learn about First Kaska and the management team, shareholder Liard First Nation, all eight lines of business, news and employment opportunities. Collectively, the companies of First Kaska provide a broad range of opportunities and benefits to members of Liard First Nation. There are training and employment prospects in seven industry sectors, including solar power, construction, earthworks, with more to come.
